Carey was 5'10 in height when she became a leading model. Her popularity was with American designers Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren was high. Her father was a prominent scientist and was recognized as the Scientist of 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. As a result of his work, Carey grew up all around the world. As she attended in the University of Colorado at part-time, she caught the interest of the Ford model Agency representative in New York. Following her move to France in the summer of 1999, where she resided between Paris, Bordeaux and New York and then New York, she made the decision that she would return to New York and continue her education. In the next few months, Vogue, Glamour and various other magazines included her on the covers. She studied full-time at New York University, obtaining the degree in Literature, which she earned while working on modeling assignments. When she began studying acting at Neighborhood Playhouse, New York, her enthusiasm for the field grew. In 1986 she had her first acting role which was a part of Club Paradise, with Robin Williams. When she is not working she loves skiing, windsurfing, climbing rocks as well as whitewater kayaking.
